6 Months of the Sound's World Times!

When I started the Sound's World Times 6 months ago, it wasn't a giant operation. Our first issue was only 2 pages. We discussed the Bing Bong craze that had occurred the other night, we talked about our own newspaper in our first-ever "State of the Newspaper" section, and we talked about Xmo's upcoming Minecraft SMP event. (Update August 1, 2026: before the State of the Newspaper section, we also discussed that the February 2026 Ownerial Elections were beginning soon.)

It was a humble operation.

But little did I know that over the course of 6 months, we would get our own official website, we would become the biggest newspaper on the server and become a trusted source of Sound's World news for many people, we would publish some of 2026 Sound's World's biggest news stories, we would have our own "Sound's World Says" section in lots of issues with community-written articles, we would have Adam Moments, Shuckle Moments, Upcoming SW Events, Sackboy Moments, Pets of the Week, Missing Person Report, and loads of recipes from the community. 

Our newspaper has grown into such a big operation. From our first issue to today, we have done so many news stories, and you guys (the community) have helped so much with the newspaper and provided community-written articles, community-written recipes, suggestions for the newspaper, and more. When it came time to put a certain aspect of our newspaper up to a vote, you guys showed up and made your voice heard.

So, I just wanted to say: thank you.

Thank you all so much for reading the Sound's World Times over the past 6 months. Thank you all for contributing recipes, contributing articles, contributing Adam Moments screenshots in the Town Hall server, giving suggestions, and being there. When we made journalistic errors or misrepresented a story, you guys pointed it out and worked with us to fix it. When fake news arose, you guys warned us about it. You guys gave us valuable information that helped us keep our newspaper running.

At the Sound's World Times, our goal has always been to provide a soulful community publication to the masses, where everything from breaking news, photos of cats, upcoming events, happenings in Sound City, community-created recipes, and opinion articles on the "Sound's World Says" segment can shine. We've always tried to make everyone heard: including people who may have traditionally been shunned or silenced. We operate with deep respect towards the community, Sound's World, and the staff that make it possible, and it has been the honor of my Sound's World career to keep this newspaper going over the past 6 months.

So, again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for reading, contributing to, and enjoying the Sound's World Times over the past 6 months. Let's make the next 6 months even better. :D
